So, returning from Las Vegas a little poorer, but more relaxed, for sure. The most interesting observation was that the Paris, where we stayed, had not a single French flag hanging... anywhere. Not out front, not at the top of the Tower, and not on their charming little indoor Boulevard. What one sees are the Stars and Stripes hanging where the other flags where, and a "United We Stand" theme on the enormous marquee out front. It seems there were many complaints, and the offensive banners were hastily replaced several weeks ago.

Rock on.

Not to be outdone (and we weren't even upset with the Italians), the Bellagio included Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" and a stirring rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" into their very impressive fountain display across the street. Capitalism at work. Nice to see.
