Was just flicking through channels and came across C-Span's rerun of Friday's Reagan burial in Simi Valley. I always thought the 21-gun salute was pretty cool and got to thinking about how it originated. Well, look no further. In this particular instance, they used a 7-gun formation, fired three times.
Nancy Reagan accepting the folded flag and resting her head on the coffin was truly a touching moment.
On a lighter note...they previously fired cannons. I noticed a rabbit running for its life in the foreground, undoubtedly thinking, "What the f...??"
