Poll Vault
Scanning some headlines today, I ran across this, from Bloomberg: "U.S. President George W. Bush leads Democratic challenger John Kerry in five of six battleground states -- Arizona, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Ohio -- that he won in the last presidential election, a poll conducted for MSNBC and Knight-Ridder showed." Moving on, there are these: ...and the latest Pennsylvania polls which show a Bush lead, though well within the margin of error. Meanwhile, the "Beltway Boys" on FOX news have calculated that if the election were held this weekend, President Bush would win with 300 electoral votes. Bloomberg News's own analysis shows Bush with a definite 184-154 electoral vote lead, with the remaining 200 votes sitting within the margin of error. The Kerry campaign's response? Kerry's communications director, Stephanie Cutter, [told CNN that] the polls also show U.S. voters are dissatisfied with Bush's performance in handling the conflict in Iraq and the economy.
