Let The Man Speak

Read this, and then read this, and explain to me how any opinion on the origins of life as we know it today can be considered anything more than a personal belief.

Darwin's "Theory" is at best a hypothesis, and one that has not yet been observed in experiment. For that matter, many of the opposing viewpoints haven't been observed, either. So far, the only relevant experiment I've seen is that humans keep producing baby humans, and not some other species altogether. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever hearing any reliable reports of one species conceiving and producing a different one.

I think the zeal with which people debate this issue further points to the various camps boiling down to personal beliefs. If anything could be dispassionately, scientifically, and conclusively demonstrated, then someone would show the world the answer and the argument would be over. Instead, people use volume to override reason.

So when it comes to issues like this one:

This week, Behe will testify in a federal courtroom in Harrisburg in a landmark case about whether students in a Pennsylvania classroom should be required to hear a statement before their evolution classes that says Darwin's theory is not a fact.

... my response is, "Good point."
