I just saw a bizarre segment on Fox News showing Peter Arnett being interviewed(?) by an Iraqi in full military regalia. Arnett said, effectively, that his reports on civilian casualties going back to the US are helping the anti-war cause and that the coalition forces are bogged down and that it is causing the US to have to "rewrite their war plan." At first I was outraged but then it occurred to me that Arnett sounded like he was talking himself out of a potentially dicey situation. With a couple of reporters now missing in Iraq, I am willing to give Arnett the benefit of the doubt for now.

UPDATE: Here's the story with a little background. Maybe Arnett is just as goofy as he appeared.

UPDATE again: Arnett got canned by NBC. Just another case of lefty media bias which they will deny. Arnett dropped this nugget too:

Arnett, while apologetic on NBC, said he has granted many interviews in the past and that his remarks were not "out of line with what experts think."

Where are these experts? Iraqi experts? John Pilger? Arnett is delusional.
