There are reports that (gasp) the grassroots campaign to boycott French products is beginning to have an effect. Few hard numbers are so far available, but even so: The nation's principal business federation took the unusual step of publicly acknowledging the problem, conceding today that sales, recruitment and business contacts have been hurt. It appealed to consumers and businesses to keep political differences from affecting commerce. I had to read that last paragraph twice, just to make sure I was getting it right. Thanks for the tip. We'll consider your input, but of course, we'll need a lot more time before we can do anything about it. Maybe instead of telling Americans how they should or should not protest French foreign policy, they should listed to one of their own businessmen, who's feeling the pinch. "We want to send the message to the French side to please do something. Or, if you don't want to do anything, then please shut up." Il l'a dit. posted by Max Power | 11:01 AMon this |
