Hans Blix claims the Pentagon is on a smear campaign against his, er, good name.
"There are people in this administration who say they don't care if the UN sinks under the East River (in New York), and other crude things," he was quoted as saying.

Hell, that's no secret. Most Americans feel that way. You see, Hans, we get our dander up a little when people like you suggest that the US needs to abdicate responsiblility for its own protection to a body that holds the likes of Libya in high enough regard to allow them to participate in security.

"We cannot exclude that they may find something," he said of coalition forces seeking banned weapons in Iraq, before adding: "It's true that the Iraqis misbehaved and had no credibility, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they were in the wrong."

Say what? The Iraqis "misbehaved" to the tune of how many dead? I think those parents whose children ended up in mass graves may use a stronger word than "misbehaved" for the Hussein regime. And what does he mean that they weren't necessarily in the wrong? About what? This last statement is puzzling.
