Just caught the tail-end of a report on Good Morning America about Wal-Mart turning in over 300 illegal aliens working for them. At GMA, Diane Sawyer wondered about the "backlash" against the company and reporter Robert Pierre fretted that it would be "publicity nightmare" for them. Imagine that--an American company identifies illegal activity taking place within their ranks, notifies authorities and the appropriate people are identified--and the folks at GMA believe this will have a deleterious effect on their image. Jebus.

UPDATE: Ok, maybe I dropped the ball on this one. It appears WalMart was being deceptive here. In my defense, the original reports yesterday suggested that WalMart had triggered the whole investigation in the first place. I should have read them more closely.
