The NFL needs to spice up the Thanksgiving matchups, starting with changing the teams involved. Some people think Dallas and Detroit are Thanksgiving traditions and perhaps they are right, but if that's the case, it's time to start a new tradition. My interest in any football game increases by a factor of seven if I am at least interested in one of the teams, by a much greater margin if I actually like or hate one of them. Dallas and Detroit fall into the latter category, but this year Dallas has been matched against the equally repugnant Miami and Detroit...well, Detroit is playing someone. Does it really matter? Pulling against Detroit is like pulling against the Washington Generals--you'll probably be right, but do you feel like you've accomplished anything?
I think this Thanksgiving, I have a different set of matchups in mind.
