Williams, who suffers from social-anxiety disorder and was a former spokesperson for the anti-depressant Paxil, claimed marijuana helped him once he had to stop using Paxil because it didn't agree with his diet. Williams said that marijuana was better for him and did not see anything wrong with the drug since it was "just a plant."

Of all of the arguments I've ever heard for legalizing marijuana, that one has to be the simplest and weakest at the same time. Other substances that derive from "just plants" include your run-of-the-mill opium and cocaine, of course, as well as even more harmless everyday household items like arsenic, hemlock, cyanide, and the "vile weed" better known as broccoli.
