I tried to upgrade my home PC to SP2 this weekend (already running Windows XP Pro SP1). It was a mistake. After the upgrade, Windows Explorer refused to load. For anyone familiar with Windows XP, you can't do anything without Explorer, since the OS is based on it.
Thankfully, I had the foresight to set a restore point prior to install. After a couple of hours, I was able to roll back to that point. However, I'm concerned that Microsoft is planning on distributing this automatically to everyone, via their Automatic Update feature.
