Dan "Pot" Rather vs. The Kettle

I think the thing that bothers me most about the whole CBS debaucle is the hypocrisy. The main thrust of the "60 Minutes" story was questioning President Bush's credibility. A significant amount of evidence has since been provided to show that the basis of their story, the evidence behind it, is false. Following our old favorite, the Transitive Property, one can conclude that the credibility of that CBS report is called into question. Yet Dan Rather insists, even now, that his (proven) lies are immaterial while the alleged lies about the President (not proven) should be validated simply because they were asserted. How can anyone believe anything presented by CBS News or 60 Minutes now, when rather than reporting the facts, they insist on denying and spinning them?
