Watching coverage of the Republican National Convention last night, I was disturbed by two things. The first was Tim Russert. Tim, you're biased. Quit trying to pretend you're not. Everyone saw your little fist-pump four years ago when you thought Gore had won Florida. The second, and more troublesome thing, however, was the blatant disregard for peoples' right to their opinions. The world was witness to persecution of innocent citizens for their political beliefs, right there in downtown New York. I'm referring, of course, to the insults, vulgarity, and obscene gestures to which which the convention delegates were subject on their way into Madison Square Garden. Sickening. I'm supposed to listen to the candidate that supports this kind of behavior?
