Drafty

Don't know that I'm going to liveblog the NFL draft as intently as I did last year, but I have at least one observation: San Francisco has known it had the first pick since, what, December? And now that Paul Tagliabue has officially kicked off the draft and put them on the clock, apparently they are going to use every last minute of it before making their pick. Is something going to happen in the next fifteen minutes that is going to swing the decision they've been making over the past four months? I think maybe SF made some kind of financial arrangement with ESPN to protract their pick as long as possible so Chris Berman and company can blather on with their keen "observations."

UPDATE: ESPN just listed Braylon Edwards' height as 6' 2 7/8". That's right: 2 and 7/8". I think if he were 6' 3", he would have gone first or second.

UPDATE: Why do I have the sinking feeling that Jerry Angelo is trying desperately to trade the 4th overall pick to dispense with the responsibility of actually making a top-line pick?
