They Think of Everything

A trip to the restroom in Japan is a little different. If you're in a public restroom in a park, or somewhere, you may find a porcelain seat and bowl leading to a hole in the ground. Hotels and offices, however, seem to be universally equipped with electronic toilets. These marvels of technology include heated seats with adjustable temperature, built-in bidé functionality with adjustable water temperature, air dryers (adjustable temperature, of course), and even little "privacy" buttons, that make sounds that hopefully drown out your own.

When you're finished with your business, you can of course wash your hands at the fully automated touch-free sink, like many places here. What we don't have, however, are the high-power hand dryers built right into the rim of the sink in some cases. Even when they're separately mounted on the wall, their dryers actually dry your hands in a matter of seconds.
