Europeans Clamber For Moral High Ground
As if another article describing Europe's dissatisfaction comes as a shock to anyone. The opening paragraph is a killer: The execution of convicted killer Stanley Tookie Williams sparked outrage Tuesday in Europe, where many have a deep aversion to capital punishment sustained by the memory of state-organized murder during the Nazi era. Yeah, ok, Hans. Executing a murderer with multiple convictions is the same as Nazis doing what? UPDATE: I got into a little dust-up in the comments of this post. The prevailing reasoning (if it can be called that) of the left regarding the Tookie Williams situation is this: Nazis killed people. Americans are killing Tookie Williams. Americans are Nazis. QED Sorry, but that facile argument doesn't wash. posted by the wolf | 12:34 PMon this |
